Calculating Solar Noon in Your TownTo make this work, you'll need to know sunrise and sunset times for your particular area. The easiest place we know to find this out is at a site called SunriseSunset.com from a man named Steve Edwards. We don't know him, but his information sure is helpful. Thanks, Steve.
On a sunny day, hang a plumb bob from something tall. At solar noon, trace a line along the shadow cast by the plumb bob. That line runs true south and north. Guaranteed. | |||||
