I do believe you have to really want to quit.  And...believe that you can.

I read somewhere once that it often takes a few times of trying before most people actually quit smoking.  Each time they try skills are developed that can help them eventually become successful at quitting smoking.

TC, you must have a very stong mind.  And a strong will..

You just really have to want to do it....and yes, I do have a strong will...when I want to.  Smiley

Do you want your baby to smoke?  If not, then give up the vice.

BTW, I hope you don't smoke around him at all.  Secondhand smoke and children don't mix.

Just for the record, I don't smoke around ANY non-smokers, be they child or adult.
And anyone who does is just cruel...

Ok, did good today. Walked about 5 miles today, and that is speed walking. Ate a clam/shrimp cheese alfredo creme sauce over angel hair pasta (lets just say the half and half was not as fattening as it tasted, ok maybe a weeee bit) with small snacks between... ok, the seafood was healthy. Geeze I am trying. I love food, I'll just exercise more  Grin

For dinner today I made a really kickass beef stew!  Entire family loved it.  Had me a plate of the stew with two slices of plain white bread...and a cup of low fat vanilla yogurt for desert.

Speed walking....is that where you just walk fast as opposed to what I call power walking which is walking fast, but at the same time, you get the arms into it, bent at elbow and pumping right along with the legs....course ya got to shake the booty too for it to be power walking...great low impact cardio workout....do that shit for an hour or so and I guarantee that you will work up a sweat adn work off your frustrations!

On a side note....LUNCH...I used to pack my lunch, which contained a big hunk of cheese (I love good cheese), 2 or three Sandwiches (I love sandwiches) and then a bag of chips or cookies or sumpin...did that every day...well, that wasn't helping the ol waistline much, so now, I pack up a couple cups of low fat yougurt, some fruit (apples, banannas, grapes, etc) and a goodly helping of cottage cheese.  When I get to work, I eat me a bowl of good ol' Raisen Bran Crunch...then as I get hungry through out the day, I dive into the trusty LOW FAT lunch box....the cottage cheese is my main lunch item.....I never go hungry and I'm eating healthier than I was before.

Just how I'm approaching it....but working for me...have already taken .5 inch off the waist...bout 1.5 to 2 inches to go!

I found an old pair of jeans at my sister's house.
I used to be a 34/36

Notsomuch anymore.
I want those friggin' jeans that are endeavoring to mock me to be my goal.

When I can fit back into those, I will be happy.
It's only been 5 years since I wore them...

I ordered a turkey club on wheat.
With no mayo.
It tastes like cardboard.

Pretzels are fat free.
And they have saltless ones.
And yellow mustard is low in calories.
And no fat calories.

It's like delusional snacking or something.
You think yer getting a treat.
