Okay, anyone, for someone who smokes and hasn't worked out in about 3 years, what do you suggest as a baby step.

And no telling me to quit smoking, that is NOT a baby step...

There's that whole damned time thing.
Okay, tomorrow, I will walk to do any errands within a mile of my house.
And I have a lot of them.
So it's something.

I know people who have had great success with acupuncture to stop smoking.

My mom quit after smoking for 50 years with the patch.  8 yrs ago and still hasn't started again.

Zyban is suppose to work too.

I can only speak for myself...but for me, quitting smoking was mind over matter.....

Sure, there IS an addiction to nicotine....it took me three days to kick that....the hard part was the phsycological addiction....that wasn't easy...but I chose to quit and just Got R Done...cold turkey on a Friday night.

Tati & TC:

I will get back to you for more info when I actually want to quit.
I am not ready to do that now.
But thank you for your suggestions - and for you care and concern.
Just...lemme have the ONE vice, damnit - I gave up all the others... Cry Cry Cry

And I ain't home, Tink, but when I am, I am going to do just that.

I do believe you have to really want to quit.  And...believe that you can.

I read somewhere once that it often takes a few times of trying before most people actually quit smoking.  Each time they try skills are developed that can help them eventually become successful at quitting smoking.

TC, you must have a very stong mind.  And a strong will..

Yeah, kudos on that, TC.

I've tried quitting 4 times.

Each time I quit was because someone (other than me) wanted me to.
Obviously if I am still sporting that monkey it didn't work.

So good job and all.
And hope that when I *DO* quit that I have your strength.

I'm in!

I've already made my first 10 lbs. goal...just 50 more to go!  Tongue

I need to get exercise in...I'm eating much better, but gotta get my metabolism up by adding in the exercise.

Thanks TC for starting a support group!

But it is the healthiest step.

Do you want your baby to smoke?  If not, then give up the vice.

BTW, I hope you don't smoke around him at all.  Secondhand smoke and children don't mix.
