I've found this site through a financial planner - very good - I have another question.  My spouse of 21 years has decided to leave myself and our 2 teenage children.  He moved in with his parents.  We have beautiful truck which I can not keep because I can't afford the $700.00 month payment therefore must go through bankruptcy.  I have my own very successful daycare business in our home in MN.  I had an free consultation with an attorney would gave me a rough figure for child support which I told my spouse who is an OTR Truck Driver.  When I was told him of the amount, I didn't realize that my spouse's weekly advances were included in his average weekly paycheck.  Therefore, when figuring child support, the net income should be raised $200.00 a week.I am trying hard to have my spouse work with me rather than against me so neither of us has a huge legal fee bill.  We came to somewhat of an agreement until I found out that he would be paying me $250.00 less a month for child support than he should.  I asked for the house, everything in it since it is also my business, I will pay 25% of my insurance premium if he'll keep me on his policy, I will pay 50% of childrens medical bills, he will pay for my cell phone bill since its on his plan (I never use it $20.00 included on his plan), and I asked to keep 100% of our 2006 tax refund because we've know for several years that we need a new roof and I got a fix-it ticket for our septic system which was somewhat fixed last year.  After my living expenses  including utilites, lunch $, food, that type of thing I have $75.00 left to live off for entertainment from my own income - unless I loose daycare kids.  Am I wrong to ask for the correct amount of child support on top of the tax refund?  He knew we needed these 2 repairs before he left.  I can't aafford nor do I want to pay huge attorney bills.  Any suggestions?

Sites like this are great tools for "I have this question; what is the answer." They're less useful for "here's everything about my case. Now tell me what to do." Let me suggest that you think in terms of a question you think the group can help you answer, and I bet the information you get back will be more helpful.
