Gettimg old just sucks!!

I haven't been ablr to see distance since I was about 17. Now with contacts distance is ok... but I can't even see the damn computer screen half the time.

Without my contacts I'm fine close up.... my friends are ragging me bunches. I just got free of glasses ... now I'm going to have to stash "readers" every where It jiust blows!.

Yeah, that's a nice thing about glasses, it's pretty easy to remove them to read things up close.  I recently got progressive lenses, and it helps, but not enough!

I carry a light-up magnifier in my purse for help reading menus in dark restaurants.  One time when I pulled it out, the people at the table next to me asked to borrow it!!! So I don't feel so alone.

I actually like wearing glasses.  They have so many cute ones out there and they hide the wrinkles.  Plus, with the progressive lenses - no one knows you have bifocals on and unlike others with cheaters - I always have my cheaters handy.  I gave up on contacts years ago as I get up to early in the morning and they bugged me.

My eye doc told me every year for 3 years that my eyes weren't weak enough for contacts. Then this year he says I have a muscle weakness in the eye and I can finally wear contacts, but within 10 years I'll need surgery for the muscle weakness, to permanently fix them. I wanted to get out from behind the glasses, because I think my eyes are my best feature and now I'll have to get them cut in a few years...... blahhhhhh!!

When you have two different colored eyes like me, it is your most interesting feature if not best feature.
