An alligator may not seem like such a big deal. When you're up to your ass in them it becomes a whole different story. Take a poll of ten different people about what's important in life and you're likely to get ten different answers. What I take exception to is the fact there are apparently a few here that can discuss any and every topic they wish, whenever they wish without repercussion regardless of how silly or foolish it may be. Then have the nerve to turn around and raise nine kinds of sand at someone else. As I said, we each have our own opinion as to what is important in life. I find politics to rank right up at the top. It effects us immediately. It effects our families and future families. It effects our whole well being. I wish more people would realize just how important it is. On the other hand, I could give a nutria rat's ass about Dancing With The Stars or many of the other bullshit posts. What I really care about is the board being the same for everyone. If there are topics that are off limits then state that. Make everyone aware of the rules. If there are no topics off limits then ignore whatever you don't like. Whether people have the balls to admit it or not, there is different treatment for different people here.

This board is a whole lot like the Federal Government. It wasn't broke, it hasn't been broke but everyone is always trying to fix it. More control, more regulations, more rules and damn sure more corruption. In the eleven years I have been at this board I have always found and said that this board took care of itself with or without intervention from anyone else. It is amazing to me that people actually seek to be controlled in their life. For some reason people think they need to be controlled and someone else should do that job. This works out great because there are those people that love control and feed on it.

This board has worked all of these years in spite of the attempts to control it and regulate. If you make a rule about posts or topics, everyone at some point will break that rule because threads and topics just have their own life of morphing into other areas and topics. My opinion is, for what it's worth, leave the board alone and let it do what it has done in spite of everyone's attempt to change it.
