Going thru divorce, wanting to relocate back home around all of my family. Soon to be ex is threatening that he wont let this happen. Is this a possibility that he can stop me from moving?

If you have children and have primary physical custody granted to you, yes, he can make an argument to keep you in the state and general locality.

Yes, and no. He cannot stop YOU from moving anywhere you please. But.... he CAN stop you from taking his children with you, by asking the court to disallow their being moved.

In my state and situation... you basically have to stay where the other parents visitation rights are not infringed upon.  I.e - can't move out of immediate area. BUT, if you have 100% legal custody, as well as 100% physical custody, I think you can do whatever you want.

my ex moved out of state and dissapeared,, i have visiitation and joint custody, she was in connecticut, then florida, and now in georgia, the decree specifically states she is not supposed to be out of alabama or florida,  but they wont go after her,  sure, i could spend thousands of dollars on an attorney (been there done that) but it doesnt seem to matter. but of course,, a child needs both parents, do whats right, not what you cant get away with.
