My ex that has stopped child support quit his job and is raising animals?? So, can he get out of paying child support and the insurance, because he does not have any money? And, he is self employed. It is bothering me and just keep thinking of questions. Also, if he comes back and wants visitation and he is not paying anything... do I still have to let the children go with him?
If he has no money and no job. Is it hopless and he is getting out of what the divorce decree says?
Thanks again!
He is still responsible for paying the amount that the court ordered until he files for a modification. And when he does file for a modification, he will probably learn what imputed income means.
Since he doesn't have a job to garnish the wages, you can ask the court to put a lien on any personal property that he has (the "business", house, cars, etc..) so that he can't sell it without paying all of the arrears.
Child support and visitation are 2 separate issues. You can't withhold visitation because he isn't paying.
