752 - What Information Will Lee Need?

Here's the information I will need for your uncontested divorce. I will need the home address and social security number for each of you. I'll also need to know how far each of you got in school. If you have children younger than 19, I'll need the full name, address, and social security number of each child; the address and phone number where each parent lives and where each parent works; the name of the employer for each parent; the income of each parent (including bonus, commission, overtime, and shift differential pay); the cost of work‑related child care; and the cost of health insurance, if any, for the children. If you own a house together, and if one of you is going to sign it over to the other, bring a copy of your deed. This will give me the information I need to create a quitclaim deed or statutory warranty deed so you can handle that at the same time. The rest of the information I need to know you will probably bring with you in your head. If you and your spouse have already reached agreement on the key issues, that's fine. If you haven't yet reached agreement, that's okay too. There's a separate message number 753 called "How long does uncontested divorce take?"

Alabama Family Law Center serves clients who need to get through divorce and who are able to be reasonably cooperative. The goal is for both spouses to survive divorce and move on with their lives with some money in their pockets and their dignity intact.

No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
