About Betty ManleyElizabeth Manley, M.Ed., J.D. is the president and founder of Atlanta Divorce Mediators, Inc. She's one of three principals in the Mediation Training Institute, also based in Atlanta. Betty is a Practitioner Member, Approved Consultant, and Approved Trainer with the Academy of Family Mediators. She has been mediating since 1977 and training mediators since 1979. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Georgia, a Clinical member and approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and an adjunct faculty member with Georgia State University. You won't visit long with Betty before hearing about her heart transplant. 1999 was a scary year, and all of us who love and respect Betty are delighted to rejoice with her at her recovery. In the process, she's gained an entirely new view of the world. Ask her about it. She loves to share it with other people. Betty is past president of the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a past president and co-founder of the Family Mediation Association of Georgia. Most recently, Betty has helped to lead a two-day workshop helping other mediators to mediate a divorce where domestic violence is involved.
