Before You Post to Helping Each Other

Helping Each Other is a wonderful community, full of caring insightful people. It can be -- and is every day -- a miraculous source of healing for people who are going through divorce. Before you post to it, however, I want to remind you to be careful about what you say. That's why I added this page . . .

One of the reasons Helping Each Other is so powerful is that everyone can access it easily. At the same time, though, this can make it a trap. As you post, just remember that everyone can access it easily. This includes the other people on Helping Each Other who want to help you. It includes people on helping each other who can learn from your experiences.

It also includes your spouse.  It also includes your spouse's lawyer. It also includes the judge. It's open and available to all. E-mail addresses, in particular, are simple to trace on Google and tie back to you.

What does that mean to you? It means you can use HEO it to help you, and you can use it to help other people. Just be aware, though, that everything you type may be read at some point by your spouse. Or by your mother. Maybe you change names. Maybe you change circumstances. Maybe you change locations. Maybe you change genders around, or times. And if you want to give out your e-mail address, consider using an alternate address just for public consumption. You get the idea.

With that in mind, welcome. And thanks for joining the caring community of Helping Each Other. When you're ready to post, click the "Back" button.
